Dominic's new thing is drinking water from his sippy cup. He's starting to be able to do it without help but we have to watch him, he tends to throw it around when he's done and since we took the valve out, it makes quite the mess.

I hadn't realised that Dominic was old enough for the stand-up toys until this party. He did great with them. With a different one (leap frog) he was able to stand up with very little help from mom. (I was so impressed I went to Toys R Us after the party and bought one myself)

On Sunday Dominic went to Ahmad's 1st birthday party. There were several other babies there and Dominic tried his best to play with them. Unfortunately most were a little more mobile then him. He had a great time though and slept well in the car after the party. (That's him laying down)

5 Months old!

Dominic is such a joy! That's how I have to start this post. He has become quite the flirt and smiles at everyone. True, he's not sleeping through the night yet but you know what, it's a small price to pay for such a happy baby! He grabs at everything now, including my lip. He wants to constantly move, the legs never stop. He's trying to crawl but the best he can do is push himself around while he's on his belly. We're in no rush though because we can tell that as soon as he can do this we'll be chasing after him constantly. He's starting to play by himself quite a bit and can sit pretty well in the boppy. He's getting better at sitting by himself but we're not quite there yet. He's had cereal, squash and bananas so far. I haven't seen a real preference but he gets so excited when the spoon comes out no matter what dinner is. He would love to feed himself but mommy's not allowing that yet. I say this every month but I can't believe how time has flown by. We're just hanging on to Dominic's coat tails. :-)

4 month appointment

Dominic had his 4 month appointment today (he was actually 4 months old on the 23rd). He weighed in at 16 pounds 10 ounces (90th%) and measured 27.5 inches long!! That's off the charts (>95th%)!!! Unbelievable, I guess that's why he's wearing 6-9 month clothing. Doc said he looked great.

He also got a couple of boosters today. I felt so bad, he was happy and smiling at the nurse and then she poked him. He was so upset he got red in the face and stopped breathing. Then the screaming started. :( So, we nursed and rocked and he fell asleep and went home with daddy while I went off to work. He's doing great though and has been playing.

In the last couple of weeks he's gotten really good with naps (3 a day for an hour long) and bedtime has started getting better too. He's in his crib and the mobile is set up now (it actually put him back to sleep last night). He's gotten excellent on his tummy as you can see in the pics and it starting to be able to shift his body while laying on the ground. So now there is no guarantee that he'll be in the same position that you put him in! It's very cool. He's growing up so fast!!

1st Time in a Highchair

We had a baby shower to attend on Sunday the 26th and for the first time Dominic was able to sit up in the highchair (with a little propping). This is him sitting with Ryan.

Mardi Gras!

Saturday the 25th was Magic Hat's Mardi Gras parade in Burlington. Not quite as warm as New Orleans...
