D-Day :-(

Reacquainting with Mommy after work. YAY!!!! Mommy was much happier. :-)

D-Day :-(

Three months went by way too fast. Monday I went back to work (30 hours/week for a while). I cried the whole way there but luckily I work with lots of other mommies who understood. Daddy and Dominic did very well. Daddy took pictures of their day and sent me some while I was working. My little boy doesn't need me anymore already. :-(

My New Walker

On Saturday I decided it was time for a walker since he was having so much fun with his jumper. So out we went to Toys r Us and even though he can't move it yet, he loves his walker!

Another Milestone

Dominic rolled from his back to his front this morning! He was pretty pleased with himself at first but then got sick of being on his belly and couldn't figure out how to get back over! Watch out! He's getting mobile. :-)

Too Cute!

This was at the end of a sneeze. I love the look!

Eating Chicken

Dominic has definitely found the chicken on his jumper.

Baby Einstein

Watching our favorite show! Baby Einstein, this one was Baby Mozart. It's amazing how much he loves these DVD's. (sorry for the angle, mommy was holding him at the time.)

Sleep, Scares and Laughs

Well, It's been an eventful week for our little Dominic. He gave mommy quite the scare the other day. Since Dominic has such great head control now I figured that I would try out our ultimate baby wrap. www.ultimatebabywrap.com for those who want to see it. It's basically 18 feet of t-shirt type material that you wrap around to create a baby carrier. There are a bunch of ways to carry the baby but since Dominic likes looking out at the world I put him face forward. So far so good, he was kicking his feet and waving his hands around. Hmmm.. let's see if he minds if I vacuum. I turned the vacuum on and he was fine, great! So we proceed to vacuum the upstairs everything is going wonderful, Dominic is happy and I have 2 hands. Now we're on the downstairs and as I lift up the vacuum head to clear something I realize that Dominic doesn't look up. In fact, he's not kicking his feet and his head is really dangling down. I know I'm moving the vacuum but the floor is just not that interesting. I look at his neck and there's nothing tight around it but I have this awful thought "Oh my God, I strangled my baby!" I move so that I can see his face and his eyes are closed and my stomach sinks. I lift up his head with my hand and his eyes open and he looks at me like "do you mind?" He closes them again and starts to snore! Apparently the carrier is pretty comfy! phew!

Speaking of sleep. I really thought he was going to start to sleep through the night. We were so close I could taste it! For about 4 days he was sleeping between 5 and 5.5 hours a night in one stretch, then he slept 6.5 hours one night. It was amazing! I thought, wow, he's really going to start doing it! Then for the last 3 night he's been up every 2 hours again! (sigh) Oh well. Maybe he just knows that mommy is getting depressed about going back to work. :-(

On a positive note, Dominic had his first real belly laugh while dancing with daddy in Old Navy. It was absolutely adorable! We're looking forward to many more now! He's also about *this close* to rolling over from his back to his stomach. He just gets stuck a little on his arm but he's getting there! I can't beleive how quickly he's growing.

The Bouncy Thing

Ok, I know this picture doesn't show it, but trust me, he really likes it.

The Bouncy Thing

Dominic is finally old enough for his jumper. He really enjoys it although since he can only really touch the ground with one foot he spends a lot of time going in circles!

Thumb sucking

Hey, these fingers separate!

Happy Baby

I love this picture!

Tummy Time

A little tummy time.

2 Month Checkup

On January 10th Dominic had his 2 month checkup. (He was actually 2.5 months but that's ok) He measured 25 inches long and a little over 12 pounds. He's in the 90th percentile for weight and 95th for height! Don't know where he gets that! He had a couple of vaccinations (poor guy) and we held off on some others. We kept up with the tylenol and besides the actual injections he handled it pretty well. The doctor said he was a very social baby.

In the rocker

Every morning Dominic spends a few minutes in his rocker with Sesame Street while mommy gets coffee!

Chillin' with Daddy

Hanging out with dad!

The lip thing!

Around New Year's eve Dominic figured out that he can suck his entire lower lip into his mouth! Since then he figures out all sorts of ways he can make his mouth go!

1st New Year's Eve

For New Year's eve Dominic and I went to Aunt Lauren and Uncle Brad's party. Daddy had to work so he didn't get to come. Great Aunt Susan wanted to hold Dominic so badly but he was just not cooperating! He was pretty fussy but refused to sleep. Finally at 11:30pm, I put my foot down and we went to bed. (Yup, I didn't let him see the New Year come in) The party must have really worn him out because he slept for a record 6 hours!! He hasn't done that since then.

Papa and Teddy

Papa loves holding Dominic!

Teddy Bear

Here's our little Teddybear napping. Something that rarely happens!

We didn't get up quite as early this year. After Dominic got breakfast we did presents at about 7:30am.

Dominic meets Alex & Shane

Dominic met his brothers for the first time on the 21st of December when they came for Christmas. This was his first meeting with them. (Don't worry it got better)

Now this is how we dress in Vermont. :-)

1st Swim

Here he is swimming with Daddy at Aunt Kim's house.

Trip to Florida

Dominic's first flight was on December 6th on the way down to Florida to visit family. He did fantastic and got great compliments from other passengers and the flight crew. Here he is with Nan & Pop at their new house.

1st Smile

Although Dad insisted that Dominic has been smiling since the delivery room, he smiled for "real" for the first time shortly before Thanksgiving. We needed help though getting it on film.

Nan & Pop Visit

When Dominic was a couple of weeks old Nan & Pop flew up from Florida to see him. We had so much fun that we forgot to take pictures!! (Don't worry we have more pics to come with Nan & Pop.)

1st Trip to Grammy & Papa's

Although Grammy & Papa visited us often, this was our first trip to their house. Of course the proud grandparents captured the moment!

1st Halloween

We had 2 outfits for Dominic for Halloween. The first one was dirty in about 5 minutes but the second one made it through. Dominic slept through all the trick-or-treaters.

Settling in

Daddy's tired too!

Settling in

For the 1st couple of weeks Daddy stayed home with us. Dominic didn't do much except sleep but mommy needed the sleep too so that was ok.
(That's a yawn by the way.)

1st Day Home

On October 25th we went home. Dominic sucked on my finger for most of the car ride home. Good thing we bought those pacifiers!

Introduction

On October 23rd, 2005 Dominic John entered the world at 4:56am. 4 days late and a day after arriving at the hospital. He was born at 8 pounds 3 ounces and 20 inches long. We're a little late starting this blog for him but better late than never!
