Canobie Lake

The day before Cole's birthday party we went to Canobie Lake. It was our first time and it was great! What a wonderful park for small kids. There was a ton of rides and a Bob the Builder show that Dominic loved. I think we'll definitely go back! I was a bit nervous leaving the kids on the rides but they did great!

C'mon Steve!!!

So we were watching Blue's Clues. (The older ones with Steve) Well, during the show Steve pretends he can't find the clues and kids yell and point them out. That's when I hear from the couch "C'mon Steve!!" and then he would point out where the clue was. He did this everytime Steve pretended to not be able to see the clue. It was too funny! I had a hard time not laughing!

At the Park with Daddy

The great thing about Daddy's schedule is that the kids get to spend lots of time with Daddy. Here's Dominic at the park while Mama was working.

Uncle Chris

We had Uncle Chris and Uncle Jerod over the other day for ribs (although they were over at different times) and Dominic had such a blast bouncing on the trampoline with Uncle Chris. He showed Uncle Chris his tricks and had Uncle Chris teach him some new ones which Dominic declared were "tricky."

MUD MONSTER!

It poured today and Dominic just couldn't resist the puddles. He told me he was a mud monster! After these pictures we took a bath!

Vacation

Mommy took a week vacation from work. We had originally thought about going somewhere in New England or Long Island but with everything so expensive we decided to stay home and do some local activities. We went to the drive-in (originally to see Wall-E) but the kids fell asleep so Mommy & Daddy watched a couple of movies instead. We did go and see Wall-E during a matinee. Domiic liked the movie although during a couple of sad parts he said "I don't like this movie." Then we did the Teddy Bear factory where Dominic made a stuffed Dinosaur called "Dinosaur."

We also went to the Ben & Jerry's factory and what was their favorite part? The ice cream? The playground? Nope. The water fountain.

Another day we went to the beach. The Sandbar is a great place for kids because they can walk out forever before it's above their head. Dominic loved playing in the water and making sand castles!

At the end of the week Daddy had to go back to work but I was able to take both of them in the pool after convincing Dominic that his life jacket was a good thing. We also took a day trip to Shelburne farms where the kids had a blast chasing chickens and checking out the animals.

It has been such a great week! I have ZERO interest in going back to work.

Dominic updates

Dominic is such a little boy now. He talks away and tells great stories. He's such a great big brother to Samantha and really tries to take care of her. He has even been rocking and "nursing" his stuffed animals.

He's really into Scooby Doo now and still into Harry Potter (which mommy loves!). His memory is unbeleivable! The other night we were driving by the McDonalds down the street and he of course asked for "Old MacDonald chicken." Daddy fibbed a little and told him it was closed and they were cleaning up. A few days later we drove down the same road. Dominic again asked for chicken and we said "Not today." Dominic asked us "They cleaning up?" We have to be very careful what we say!

In fact in Barnes n Nobles the other day he pointed to the changing table and told me that when he was little he would poop and I ould change him on that. I couldn't beleive it! That does bring me to potty training. Dominic is completely potty trained. He even gets up at night to go although I still put him in a pull-up just in case.

Company

For Samantha's christening we had Nan, Pop, Bailey and Emily up for a visit. Dominic had so much fun with the girls! One night in particular he stayed up until 10:30pm watching Harry Potter, jumping on the bed and eating cookies with them. This was after a day on the trampoline and the pool! He had a blast with them and missed them when they left!

4th of July

Dominic was so excited about the parade this year. All morning he kept yelling "C'mon Mama, Time for the parade!" He was even more excited when they started tossing him candy!

After the parade we went to a great party at Gee & Papa's house where he had a great time playing with Cole. (Until the end when they both bonked their heads.)

My little warrior

Dominic pumped up!!

Good Big Brother

Dominic is such a good big brother! He's always wanting to help Samantha and have her with him.

Daredevil

Dominic is a kid with no fear! In fact I have never in my life had so many conversations with someone trying to convince them that they can't fly!

In the big pool

In the big pool with Daddy during Samantha's birthday party.

DOJO!

Dominic loves the dojo and has been going when daddy teaches for quite a while now. I've been meaning to get some video for the longest time!

Alligator Pool!

June was sooo hot this year. We spent a lot of time in the little alligator pool to cool off. We do have a big pool as well but it's a bit tricky to take two non swimmers in by yourself so we only do that when we can be one on one.

Yup I realize I'm behind

I know I know. I'm woefully behind on blogs and photo albums. Things have been so busy but I'm going to try to catch up today!

These pics were from Gee & Papa's memorial day party!

I think he's got it!

A couple of weeks ago I decided to put Dominic in underwear, he seemed to have been backsliding a bit in his pull-ups. Well...we are now on day 5 of no accidents!! Woo hoo! We don't even have to ask him, he just lets us know when he needs to go. I am still putting him in a pull-up for bed but I think we can now say that he is day time potty trained!!!!

Way to Go Dominic!!!!!

Mother's Day

We had a great mother's day at Gee & Papa's house enjoying their new renovations. Here we are throwing rocks in a storm drain and Dominic getting tickled by Uncle Chris.

Got one!

It has been so hard to get pictures of Dominic lately much less trying to get the two of them together but I managed to get one!

Updates

Dominic is now 2.5 years old. He's still working on potty training but he has been using it every day now for some time so that's a good thing. He's talking constantly. As their doc said at Samantha's appointment, he's talking like a three year old. His imagination is in full swing and we're always playing pretend. It's incredible all the stories he comes up with. The other day he said "pacifier" correctly and although I knew he was bound to start pronouncing it right eventually I was a little sad not to hear "rarice" like he normally calls it. He's getting to be such a big boy.

Outside!!

Dominic is thrilled that the weather is warming up and is spending as much time as he can outside!
