Trip to the Great Escape

We though it would be fun to bring all the boys to the Great Escape. It was Dominic's first real long car ride (about 3 hours). It was trying but he did well.

Unfortunately little guys aren't allowed on rides (any! including ferris wheel etc) until they can walk on their own. I thought Dominic would like the water park there but all of the kids running around kind of freaked him out.

Even still, he liked looking at everything and Alex and Shane had a good time.

4th of July

Since we live right on route 7, the 4th of July parade goes right by our house. It was Dominic's first parade and he seemed to like it!

Baptism

"Are we done yet mom?"

Baptism

Playing in the holy water! Oh Oh!

Baptism

After a little conk on the head (D'OH), Dominic didn't mind the water at all.

Aunt Lauren is his Godmother and Uncle Chris is his Godfather.

Baptism

Dominic was baptised Sunday July 2nd! All of the Miller clan came up from NY and Florida, as well as the Sevins. Even Uncle Barry from Alaska made it! Following the baptism we had a BBQ in the back yard. The weather was perfect and the day went very well. We were so glad that everyone was able to make it. Not only did Dominic get to be with his brothers, he got to meet his cousin Cole and be with all of his cousins.

It was a great Weekend!

RunRunRun!

Here he is running around the house with Nanny!

Cole

While the party was going on Dominic got aquainted with his cousin Cole.

4th of July Party

Well, it was actually the 1st of July but you get the idea.

1st of all, here's Grammy & Papa after Softball at the party.

Gene Simmons?

I think Dominic is doing his KISS impression...

Here's Dominic relaxing in the pool!

Father's Day

We had a beautiful day for a BBQ on father's day. Grammy, Papa, Uncle Chris and Uncle Jerod all came over and we had a very nice day. Here's hoping we have such good weather for the Christening!

Father's Day

All the guys on father's day!

Sleepy Baby

Dominic fell asleep on his way home from church last week, where he was a wild man!
Thankfully we are close enough to walk.

KITTY!!

Poor Toy puts up with a lot of abuse!

Pay attention to me!!!!!

Shane seems to think that Dominic is a spider of some sort but he'll come around!

What are you guys doing?

Dominic's brothers are in town for 6 weeks and he finds them pretty fascinating!

Love!

Papa and Dominic being lovey!

Squishy Face!!!!

Dominic had this squishy face thing going for a while. This is the only picture that we have that shows it. (Thanks, Grammy and Papa) It's adorable when he really gets it going!!!

Dominic in his room

Dominic in his bedroom. (not that he spends much time there!)

I think it's time to lower the crib again...

Smushy Face!

Dominic looks exactly like Uncle Chris here!

(Dominic looks out from baby jail!)

Enough of this crawling!

Dominic was happy with crawling for about...5 minutes. Ever since then he's been trying to stand up and walk!

Update Part 2

Wow, I'm far behind! Time to catch up.

Anyways, Dominic had his apointment with the ultrasound for his kidneys. Everything looked fine which we thought it would. The ultrasound tech was crazy if she thought he would sit still for 45 minutes though!!!! Absolutely insane!

Dominic Update

On the May 18th, Dominic had his 6 month check-up, ok yup, it was scheduled about 3 weeks late but that's ok. He weighed in at 18 pounds 10 ounces and measured 28.5 inches long. He was off the charts for height and in the 70th percentile for weight. The doctor was very impressed with all of the things he can do like crawling, passing things from one hand to the other, pulling himself to standing etc. So Dominic is doing fantastic!

The doc did want to check out his kidneys though. There is no indication that there is a problem but Dominic has a hypospadias and that combined with a few bumps on one of his ears made the doctor want to do an ultrasound on his kidneys since all 3 form at the same time in utero. So his appointment is Thursday and I'm sure it will be fine.

Dominic is biting on everything so of course we think teeth are coming (of course we've been thinking that for a while.) Dominic just had his first cold. It was so sad. He was stuffy and coughing with a fever and our normally happy boy would cry and cry at night. He seems to be feeling better now though, thankfully!

It's a whole other ballgame now that Dominic is mobile, you can't leave him alone for a second or you'll find him climbing on something! Still not sleeping through the night but he does very well when he's in bed with us.

What's out there?

Dominic was fascinated with what was going on outside the plane before take off!

Ok, ready to Go!

Dominic with his wings! Gotta love Jetblue.

Dinner at the Beach

Here's my handsome boy out to dinner by the beach.

Nan & Pop!

Dominic had lots of fun with Nan & Pop, especially one-upping Poppy in a shreiking contest. (You had to be there.)

Florida

Dominic LOVED Aunt Kim's pool! He had a blast splashing around. I hope we have a nice summer so he can enjoy our pool.

Now, the ocean was a whole other story! He hated everything about it. Guess we'll have to try again when he gets older.

Florida

Over Mother's day weekend we took a trip down to Florida to visit Nan, Pop, Aunt Kim, Uncle Michael and Chelsea and Bailey. Dominic again travelled great!

Crawling!!!

As of May 8th we have crawling at 6 months, 2 weeks old! It was shaky but definitely forward. Once he figured that out he almost immediately started pulling himself up on us to standing. Needless to say the crib had to be dropped down!!

Feeding Himself...Sort of

Dominic kept grabbing for his bowl during dinner so I finally gave in and let him have it. He got cereal everywhere and had lots of fun with his spoon. Needless to stay he went right into the shower after.

This was also the day that he literally fell asleep on the couch. It was so adorable! Unfortunately I can't get it to post here so if you didn't get it in email, let me know and I'll send it to you.

Rough 'n Tumble

Daddy has a lot of fun now that Dominic likes to flip around.

Sweeping the floor

Yup, we work 'em early at the Miller house...

Splash Splash!

Pictures don't do it justice, but he was splashing the water on his tray pretty good!

Mmm. This is Good!

This can get very messy when he has food all over his face!

Why isn't this working??

Where's the water?

Interesting...

Is this something I want in my mouth?

Really Solid Food

So, I decided to offer Dominic something a little more solid than the baby food he's been getting. Apparently he is fascinated by the cheerios his daycare playmate gets to have. I wasn't sure he was quite ready for cheerios so I picked up some Gerber Fruit puffs. They're little cereal pieces with a little more air in them so they dissolve pretty quick. It kept Dominic busy for quite a while and after he figured out that it was food he seemed to like them.
